Journal Articles

  • How do I find an article?
If you already know which article you want, search the National University Library Catalog for the journal title to find out if we own it. If you do not yet have specific information about articles, start with a database for your subject area. You can browse a complete list of journal article databases sorted by database name.
  • How do I find peer-reviewed articles?
The Library created a Peer-Reviewed Guide to help you distinguish peer-reviewed journals from popular and professional journals. Journal databases from EBSCO, ProQuest, and Gale allow you to limit searches to peer-reviewed or scholarly articles. Use the Serials Directory and Ulrich's Periodicals Directory to verify that your journal is peer-reviewed. More Information.
  • How do I find articles that aren't available in full-text online?
If the journal you are looking for is only available in print or microform, fill out the Journal Direct Request Form. The article can either be faxed to you or e-mailed as a pdf document. If the journal is not available online or in the Library, fill out the Interlibrary loan request form, and the Library will attempt to get it from another library. There is no need to pay for newspaper and magazine articles that you find on the Web. More information
